Ankhesenamun’s life was quite difficult. At the time of his birth, an unprecedented religious revolution reigned in Egypt.

His father was in the process of passing the centuries-old Egyptian religious tradition towards monotheism. This move had the potential to weaken Egypt’s power structure. The removal of the authority of the powerful priests signaled that the dynasty was left alone.
